Education

Bongani Moses is an experienced legal, risk and compliance

professional with more than a decade of experience advising

businesses across the financial services, fintech, payments,

telecommunications and digital assets sectors. He is an admitted

attorney of the High Court of South Africa and holds a Master’s

degree in Law.


His expertise spans corporate and commercial law, financial

services regulation, payments and banking regulation, fintech and

digital assets, anti-money laundering and financial crime

compliance, regulatory licensing, enterprise risk management,

data protection and technology law.


Bongani has held senior legal and executive roles within leading

banks, telecommunications groups, fintech and digital asset

businesses, giving him a strong understanding of both
established financial institutions and emerging technology-driven

business models. Through MM Law, he combines legal expertise

with a practical understanding of risk, compliance and

commercial strategy to help businesses navigate complex

regulatory environments, structure innovative products and

engage effectively with regulators, banks and other key

stakeholders.

I serve as Senior Director at MM LAW, bringing over a decade of senior legal, regulatory, and commercial experience across the financial services, telecommunications, and technology sectors.


As a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer, I have advised leading financial institutions, fintech companies, and technology-driven enterprises on complex transactions, regulatory compliance, and strategic business structuring both locally and across multiple foreign jurisdictions. I have since extended my practice into the Middle East, where I advise fintech and digital financial services providers on licensing, compliance, and market entry strategies aligned with regional regulatory frameworks. My international exposure has given me a strong understanding of both African and Middle Eastern financial ecosystems, enabling me to support clients operating across borders with practical, commercially aligned legal guidance.

Education

Kagiso Hlongwane is a Legal, Risk & Compliance Specialist with a particular focus on fintech, payments and digital assets. He holds an LLB degree and has experience within the financial services sector, including exposure to cross-border payments and the legal and regulatory considerations applicable to financial technology businesses.

Kagiso has supplemented his legal training with specialist courses in anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance and fintech-related matters. His areas of focus include AML/CFT compliance, financial services regulation, payments, digital assets, regulatory risk, compliance frameworks and commercial legal support.

At MM Law, Kagiso supports clients operating in complex and rapidly evolving regulatory environments, with a particular emphasis on fintech and digital asset businesses. He assists with legal and regulatory research, compliance assessments, policy and framework development, regulatory requirements and the implementation of practical legal, risk and compliance solutions.
